Sinclair Breaks Record, Leads SNHU to Fourth at NE10s

Wojcik, Obernesser add wins as Penmen finish fourth overall

When and Where: May 1–2, 2026 – Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (Southern Connecticut State University – New Haven, Conn.)

The SNHU women's track & field team placed fourth overall at the Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, highlighted by multiple event victories, podium finishes, and two new program records on the final day of competition.

TRACK
  • Senior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) led the way for the Penmen with a record-breaking performance in the 200 meters, winning the event in a personal-best time of 24.64, setting a new program record. Sinclair also added a fourth-place finish in the 100 meters (12.36).
  • Sinclair was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that set a new program record, as she teamed with sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.), freshman Lily Bower (Billerica, Mass.), and freshman Jordyn Wall-Carty (Woodridge, N.Y.) to finish fifth in 48.43.
  • Sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) delivered one of SNHU's top performances of the meet, capturing the 800-meter title in a personal-best time of 2:14.70.
  • Graduate student Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) added another event victory, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best 11:03.90, which ranks among the top Division II performances this season. She also contributed points in both the 1,500 meters (4th) and 5,000 meters (6th).
  • Junior Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) earned a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.27).
  • Junior Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.) scored in both distance events, placing third in the 10,000 meters and fifth in the 5,000 meters. Junior Natalie Sicard (Nottingham, N.H.) added a fifth-place finish in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 12:35.81.
FIELD
  • Freshman Lindy Moreland (Gorham, Maine) delivered a standout all-around performance, winning the heptathlon high jump (1.56m), finishing second in the heptathlon javelin, and finishing third overall with 4100 points.
  • Freshman Ciara Pina (Taunton, Mass.) scored in the high jump with a fourth-place finish (1.45m), while Moreland added additional points with a seventh-place finish in the open high jump.
  • In the throws, senior Brooke Bibbo (Burlington, Mass.) contributed with a fourth-place finish in the shot put (11.91m) and added points in the discus. Junior Kayla Franks (Derry, N.H.) scored with a fourth-place finish in the javelin (39.45m).
RELAYS
  • The 4x400-meter relay team of Sippel, Bower, Wall-Carty, and Wheelock delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall in 4:01.44 to earn eight team points.
  • The 4x800-meter relay also contributed with a sixth-place finish.
NOTES
  • SNHU's two program records came in the 200 meters (Sinclair) and the 4x100-meter relay.
  • Southern Connecticut State University earned NE10 Championships, winning both the men's and women's championships.
UP NEXT
  • The New England Championships will give SNHU athletes a chance to quality for the NCAA Championships.  The meet will be held at Stonehill College May 8-9.
