MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Sam Maurice (Auburn, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was chosen as the NE10 Rookie of the Week on Wednesday for the period ending Oct. 15.
Maurice turned in a 10-over 223 to tie for eighth, overall, at the Post Eagles Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Watertown (Conn.) Golf Club. Maurice shot a 74 and 76 in Monday's first two respective rounds, before firing a 73 in the final round Tuesday. The Penmen, who were coming off their fifth NE10 Championship title the week prior, capped their fall slate by placing fourth.
