Men’s Golf Wins Penmen Fall Invitational at Concord CC

Five Penmen place inside the top 15 to edge Post

Score: Southern New Hampshire University – 587 (1st/6)

The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team captured the team title at the Penmen Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Concord Country Club, posting a two-day total of 587 (+27) to finish three strokes clear of Post University (590, +30). The Penmen followed up a 293 (+13) in Monday's opening round with a 294 (+14) on Tuesday to secure the victory on their home course.


INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS

  • Senior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) tied for fourth overall with a two-day total of 145 (+5), following up Monday's 70 (E) with a 75 (+5).
  • Senior Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) tied for 10th at 148 (+8) after rounds of 75 (+5) and 73 (+3).
  • Sophomores Sam Maurice (Auburn, N.H.) and Charlie Blake (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) each tied for 13th at 150 (+10). Both shot 74 (+4) in the first round, with Maurice adding a 76 (+6) and Blake a 76 (+6) in round two.
  • Sophomore Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) tied for 13th at 150 (+10), bouncing back from an 80 (+10) with a final-round 70 (E).
  • Playing as an individual, sophomore Stephen Ramos (Danville, N.H.) tied for seventh at 147 (+7) behind rounds of 76 (+6) and 71 (+1), while freshman Drew Cameron (Salem, N.H.) finished 34th with a 164 (+24).

  • SNHU placed all five team scorers in the top 15 of the 36-player field.

WHAT'S NEXT

The defending champions will return to action at the Northeast 10 Championship on Wednesday, Oct. 8, and Thursday, Oct. 9, at Candia Woods Golf Links in Candia, N.H. The Penmen claimed last year's conference title at Concord Country Club and look to repeat as champions for the first time since 2001-2002.
