MANAHAWKIN, NJ – Three members of the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey program were named 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II All-Americans. The awards are sponsored by Apex Field Hockey.
Senior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) and junior Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) were named First-Team All-Americans. Junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) was named a Second-Team All-American.
Christis was named to the second team in 2023 and becomes the first Penmen to receive All-American status twice. Christis and Peters join Laura van der Doorn and Hélène Servais (both in 2019) as First-Team selections by the Coaches Association.
The NCAA also confirmed Tuesday that Christis is the 2024-25 NCAA Division II statistical champion for Goals Per Game (1.50) and Points Per Game (3.70). In addition, Peeters is the 2024-25 NCAA Division II field hockey statistical champion for Save Percentage (.843).
Furthermore, the Penmen field hockey team is the 2024-25 Division II field hockey statistical champion for Assists Per Game, Points Per Game, Save Percentage and Shutouts Per Game.
SNHU completed a 15-2 regular season in 2024. After a win in the Northeast-10 tournament, SNHU fell to eventual National Champion Saint Anselm College in the semifinals. The Penmen earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, falling 2-1 in double-overtime to National Runner-Up Kutztown University. The Penmen tied the school record for conference wins (12), reaching a new program-best fourth in the national rankings. SNHU also set a new program record for goals in a season with 70, which topped the previous mark of 68 in 2019.
