Five from Women's Soccer Take Home United Soccer Coaches Postseason Honors

Anderson, Michael highlight the winners as All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Graduate students Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team were selected as United Soccer Coaches Division II All-America Team honorees, and were joined on the United Soccer Coaches East All-Region Team by junior Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.), and seniors Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Ava Jakich-Kunze (Moscow, Idaho) when the organization announced its postseason awards recently.

Anderson and Michael are the 10th and 11th United Soccer Coaches All-Americans in program history and the first since Allyson Patterson in 2021.

Anderson earned both All-America Second Team and East All-Region First Team honors, adding to her list of accolades from the 2024 season that include Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. Anderson, one of seven Penmen to start all 18 matches this season, led the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. The two-time NE10 Player of the Week (Oct. 14, Nov. 11) ranked eighth in the conference in assists, ninth in points and 11th in goals.

Michael was crowned an All-America Third Team and East All-Region First Team choice. The NE10 All-Conference First Team selection and three-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 16, Oct. 7, Oct. 21) led a defensive unit that paced the conference in goals allowed (10) and goal-against average (0.55), while ranking second in shutouts (11).

Keith joined Anderson and Michael on the East All-Region First Team, after already collecting D2CCA East All-Region Second Team, NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year and NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. Keith played every second in net for SNHU this season, going 10-2-6 with 11 shutouts. She stopped 62 of 72 shots over 1640:00, recording a 0.55 goals-against average and .861 save percentage. The Oct. 14 NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week ranked second in the NE10 in shutouts, GAA and minutes played, while placing third in save percentage and 10th in total saves. Keith's 11 shutouts wound up one shy of tying the program's single-season record.

Conti was also an East All-Region First Teamer, after receiving NE10 All-Conference Second Team and CSC Academic All-District recognition earlier. Conti, who started all 18 matches, played a large role on the back line, while alo dishing a pair of assists.

Jakich-Kunze claimed a spot on the East All-Region Second Team. The NE10 Third Teamer and CSC Academic All-District pick started all 18 matches and made a massive impact in her first season with the Penmen. She tied Anderson for the team lead with six goals, while also adding an assist for 13 points. She ranked third in the conference in game-winning goals (3) and 11th in goals.

The Penmen (10-2-6, 5-1-4 NE10), who finished as the No. 3 seed and were knocked out of the NE10 Championship on penalty kicks, gathered the No. 3 seed in the East Region and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship.
