Women's Soccer Quartet Lands CSC Academic All-District Team Honors

All four Penmen eligible for Academic All-America accolades

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Graduate students Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Agata Giani (Milan, Italy), and seniors Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Ava Jakich-Kunze (Moscow, Idaho) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team were all chosen for to the Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recently.

Anderson, who also earned the honor in 2022, adds to her list of accolades from the 2024 season that include D2CCA East All-Region First Team and NE10 All-Conference First Team. Anderson, one of seven Penmen to start all 18 matches this season, led the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. The two-time NE10 Player of the Week (Oct. 14, Nov. 11) ranked eighth in the conference in assists, ninth in points and 11th in goals. Anderson is a graphic design & media arts major with a 3.87 grade-point average.

Giani, an NE10 Second Team pick, started 14 of the 16 matches she suited up in, as she played a crucial role in the midfield and scored a pair of goals for four points.

Conti, who was also an NE10 Second Team choice, was part of a defensive unit that leads the conference in goals allowed (10), while ranking second in shutouts (11), goal-against average (0.55) and goals allowed (7). Conti, a justice studies major with a 3.55 GPA, started all 18 matches and dished a pair of assists.

Jakich-Kunze, a politics and global affairs major with a 4.0 GPA, started all 18 matches and made a massive impact in her first season with the Penmen, as she found a spot on the NE10 Third Team. She tied Anderson for the team lead with six goals, while also adding an assist for 13 points. She ranked third in the conference in game-winning goals (3) and 11th in goals.

The Penmen (10-2-6, 5-1-4 NE10), who finished as the No. 3 seed and were knocked out of the NE10 Championship on penalty kicks, gathered the No. 3 seed in the East Region and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists, which Anderson, Giani, Conti and Jakich-Kunze all are, are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 11.
