NEWISA All-New England Accolades Bestowed on Five from Women's Soccer

Anderson, Michael earn First Team honors

PAXTON, Mass. – Graduate students Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.), Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) and Agata Giani (Milan, Italy), and juniors Imogen Noon (Gold Coast, Australia) and Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.), all of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team, claimed New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England Team honors Friday.

Anderson, who landed a spot on the First Team, adds to her list of accolades from the 2024 season that include United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team, United Soccer Coaches East All-Region First Team, Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. Anderson, one of seven Penmen to start all 18 matches this season, led the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. The two-time NE10 Player of the Week (Oct. 14, Nov. 11) ranked eighth in the conference in assists, ninth in points and 11th in goals.

Michael joined Anderson on the First Team after being crowned a United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team, United Soccer Coaches East All-Region First Team and NE10 All-Conference First Team choice earlier in the postseason. The three-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 16, Oct. 7, Oct. 21) led a defensive unit that paced the conference in goals allowed (10) and goal-against average (0.55), while ranking second in shutouts (11).

Giani, an NE10 Second Team and CSC Academic All-District pick, received a Second Team nod. Giani started 14 of the 16 matches she suited up in, as she played a crucial role in the midfield and scored a pair of goals for four points.

Noon joined Giani on the Second Team, after collecting an NE10 Third Team honor in November. Noon started all 18 contests and dished eight helpers for eight points, leading the league in assists, while sitting inside the top 30, nationally.

Keith wrapped up the Second Team honorees after already collecting United Soccer Coaches East All-Region First Team, D2CCA East All-Region Second Team, NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year and NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. Keith played every second in net for SNHU this season, going 10-2-6 with 11 shutouts. She stopped 62 of 72 shots over 1640:00, recording a 0.55 goals-against average and .861 save percentage. The Oct. 14 NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week ranked second in the NE10 in shutouts, GAA and minutes played, while placing third in save percentage and 10th in total saves. Keith's 11 shutouts wound up one shy of tying the program's single-season record.

The Penmen (10-2-6, 5-1-4 NE10), who finished as the No. 3 seed and were knocked out of the NE10 Championship on penalty kicks, gathered the No. 3 seed in the East Region and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship.
