Female Athlete of the Week: Abby Lineman - Softball - So.
Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa.) had one of the most productive weeks in program history, including hitting grand slam home runs in back-to-back innings in a win over Minnesota-Crookston in Florida last Wednesday.  For the week, Lineman hit .519 (14-for-27) with two doubles, three homers and 13 RBI. She leads the NE10 with her four homers and 15 RBI.

Male Athlete of the Week: Matt Becht - Men's Basketball - Gr., G
Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Northeast-10 Championships after helping lead the Penmen to the title, and a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament.  Becht averaged 22.0 points in the four tournament wins, scoring a season-high 33 in the semifinal win at Saint Michael's College and 15 in the final win over Southern Connecticut State.

Notes:
- Women's basketball earned the fifth seed and will meet Jefferson, the fourth seed, in the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season.
- SNHU won a game in the NCAA tournament for the first time last year at the East Regional over Saint Thomas Aquinas College before falling to Jefferson 62-49 in Worcester.
- This is the third consecutive season and fifth trip to the NCAA Championship for the Penmen.

Notes:
- Men's basketball went 2-0 last week to claim the third Northeast-10 tournament championship in school history, and the first since 2016.
- SNHU tied a school record last Wednesday with 19 made three-pointers in a 96-61 win over top-seed Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt.
- Becht and junior Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) combined to knock down 15 3-pointers and score 56 points, to lead the fifth-seeded Penmen. Henderson scored a career-high 23 points on 8-12 shooting including 7-10 from three-point range.  Junior Derrick Grant Jr. (Plainfield, N.J.) added 11 points and six rebounds.
- The Penmen earned the right to host the NE10 Championship game on Saturday after Southern Connecticut State, the sixth-seed, advanced with a win over Saint Anselm College.
- Senior Preston Santos (Providence, R.I.) scored 20 points to lead four scorers in double figures in the 75-60 win over the Owls.  Santos also pulled down nine rebounds, added three assists, and had four steals, and three blocks.  He joined Becht on the All-Tournament Team.
- Henderson finished with 16 points and Grant hit for 13 points, pulling down eight rebounds and adding three blocks.
- Junior Luke Bramanti (Chelmsford, Mass.) earned the NE10's prestigious Elite 24 Award, which honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the finals site at each NE10 Championship.
- The Penmen have been seeded third in the NCAA East Regional after winning the automatic bid.  They will head back to Saint Michael's College.  The Purple Knights will host as the top seed.
- SNHU's first opponent in the regional is Bloomfield College, the sixth seed. 
- The Penmen won a regular-season game at Bloomfield on December 9 by a score of 69-67.
- This is SNHU's second consecutive season in the NCAA tournament, and 22nd overall.

Notes:
- Baseball went 4-2 last week, finishing a series in Philadelphia with Jefferson with a doubleheader split last Monday (3/4).  SNHU then took three of four games with Saint Thomas Aquinas College.  Those contests were played at Salem State University.
- Junior Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) was named the NE10 Player of the Week.  He went 9-for-18 (.500) at the plate with 11 runs scored, nine RBI, two home runs, eight walks, and a perfect 7-for-7 stealing bases.  Vargas Segura, through 16 games, leads the NE10 in hits (22), runs (25), walks (18), and stolen bases (13) while ranking second in home runs (4) and RBI (18).
- Senior Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) went 9-for-21 (.429) with eight runs scored, three homers and 10 RBI.  He also had a double and drew a walk.  Burgos leads the NE10 with seven home runs.
- Sophomore Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) also had nine hits (9-for-20, .450) including a pair of doubles and his first home run of the season.
- Freshman Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) hit two homers and drove in six runs in his six starts. 
- On the mound, sophomore Austin Trumpour (Jensen Beach, Fla.) picked up a pair of wins in his two starts.
- Sophomore Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) hit .333 (2-6) at the plate and made three appearances, including two starts, on the mound.  He allowed just two earned runs in his eight innings (2.25 ERA) with seven strikeouts in eight innings pitched.

Notes:
- Softball went 6-2 last week to finish its Florida trip. The offense scored 47 runs in the wins.
- Lineman was the story of the week, earning the NE10 Player of the Week after hitting .519 (14-27) with two doubles, three homers, and 13 RBI. 
- Against Minnesota Crookston, Lineman hit grand slams in back-to-back innings, finishing the game with nine RBI.
- Senior Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) went 10-24 (.417), scoring five runs, and driving in four.
- Sophomore Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) had 11 hits in 30 at-bats (.367), driving in a pair of runs.
- Junior Mackenzie Bruggeman (Trumbull, Conn.) hit two more home runs, giving her three on the season.
- Senior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) won three times in the circle, allowing just five earned runs in 24.1 IP (1.44 ERA).  She struck out 15 in her four starts.
- Junior Amelia Freitas (Plymouth, Mass.) picked up a pair of wins in her four starts.
- Freshman Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) earned a win in her first career appearance in the circle with four innings against Saint Thomas Aquinas on March 8.

- Women's lacrosse had two close games against ranked opponents.
- Graduate student Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) scored ten goals and added 4 assists for 14 points in the two games.
- Fellow grad student Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) also had ten goals and three assists with 11 draw controls and a ground ball.
- Graduate student Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) had three goals and three assists.
- Junior Rachel McLaughlin (Woburn, Mass.) notched three goals and three assists.
- Senior Alexis DeLucia (Uncasville, Conn.) had a goal and an assist, three ground balls and 20 draw controls

Notes:
- Men's lacrosse went 0-2 on its Spring Break trip to North Carolina, playing at Catawba and Mount Olive.
- Senior Cody Fleming (Plaistow, N.H.) scored four goals at Catawba, his first goals of the season.  He also had two ground balls.
- Graduate student Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) had a goal and three assists with two ground balls.
- Senior Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) scored three goals.
- Freshman Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) also scored three goals and had three ground balls.
- Graduate student Gennaro Marra (Hampstead, N.H.) won 31 of 44 face-offs and had 21 ground balls.
- Senior Ronan DePaul (Elkton, Md.) made 27 saves in his two starts. He had five ground balls.
- Graduate student Eric Bua Jr. (Revere, Mass.) had five ground balls and a caused turnover.

Women's Tennis (10-5, 7-1 NE10)

- Women's tennis dropped its two matches in Florida to Carnegie Mellon and Lynn, finishing the Spring Break trip at 1-2 after opening with a win over Seton Hill.

 

Men's Tennis (7-3, 3-1 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's tennis defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 5-2 in the final match before the NE10 conference season resumes on March 23 at Assumption University.
- Graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) had a hand in clinching both the match and the doubles point to lead SNHU to the win. 
- Junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) combined with Ouwejan in doubles, and won his singles match 2-6, 6-2, 10-5.

- Men's golf will start its Spring Schedule at the Ralph Hargrett Memorial, hosted by Wingate University, in Monroe, N.C. next Monday (3/18).

Completed Seasons
Women's Soccer (10-5-5, 5-2-4 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 10-5-5, including 5-2-4 in the NE10, as they earned the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship and advanced to the semifinal round, before suffering a 1-0 loss to second-seeded Adelphi University.
- SNHU earned its ninth NCAA Championship berth, including its sixth straight, collecting the No. 5 seed in the East Region. The Penmen were victorious in their first-round matchup with fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan University (2-0), eventually seeing their season draw to a close with a 2-0 second-round loss to the top-ranked College of Saint Rose.
- Sophomore Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference First Team. Senior Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) collected a Second Team honor, while graduate student Victoria Roulston (E. Falmouth, Mass.) was named to the Third Team. Freshman Liv Gantelius (Lidingoe, Sweden) claimed an All-Rookie Team.

Men's Soccer (10-6-4, 4-5-1 NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer closed its season with a 10-6-4 mark, including 4-5-1 in the NE10. The team, which began the season with a six-match unbeaten streak (4-0-2), became just the second No. 7 seed in the history of the NE10 Championship to reach the title match, falling to top-ranked Franklin Pierce University on penalty kicks, 6-5, after battling to a 1-1 draw.
- SNHU secured its 23rd NCAA tournament berth and first since 2016, earning the No. 9 seed in Super Region 1, but fell to eighth-seeded Bloomsburg University, 2-1, in the opening round.
- Sophomore Iago Perez (Oleiros, Spain), senior Nicolas Gonzalez (Santander, Spain), and junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) all earned NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors. Graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain) collected Third Team recognition, while sophomore Tyler Kraft (Londonderry, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.

Women's Volleyball (13-13, 6-5 NE10)
Notes:
-  Women's volleyball finished 13-13, including 6-5 in league play, as they claimed the No. 5 seed and upset fourth-seeded American International College in five sets in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Championship. After dropping another five-set decision in the semifinals at top-seeded Adelphi University, SNHU received its second straight NCAA Championship berth as the No. 6 seed in the East Region and suffered yet another five-set defeat to third-seeded Bentley University in the quarterfinals.
- Redshirt senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-America, All-Region, and All-Conference First Team. Pimenta was chosen as an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA East All-Region First Team, and NE10 All-Conference First Team.

Field Hockey (10-8, 9-4 NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey shook off a 1-3 start to win nine of its next 14 contests to end the regular season and earn the No. 5 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen wound up suffering a 1-0 defeat at fourth-seeded Pace University in the quarterfinal round.
- The Penmen posted a signature win at home on Oct. 4, defeating fifth-ranked Saint Anselm College, 4-1, for the first win over the Hawks in program history. SNHU had lost 16 straight to its cross-town rival.
- Freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and landed a spot on the All-Conference First Team, setting a new program mark for goals by a first-year player with 14, which led the team.
- van de Poll was joined on the First Team by junior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands). Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands) earned Second Team honors, junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) claimed a Third Team accolade and freshman Jade Hendriks (Huissen, The Netherlands) received an All-Rookie Team nod.

Cross Country
Notes:
- Women's cross country put together another stellar season, as it finished by qualifying for the NCAA National Championship for the third time in program history. The team placed fourth at the NE10 Championship, with senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) slotting in fourth to earn NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) and senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) collected Second Team recognition. The team finished third at the NCAA East Regional Championship, punching its ticket to Nationals for the second consecutive season. Seamans was eighth, overall. The Penmen finished in 33rd place in Joplin, Mo.
- The men were sixth at the NE10 Championship, with junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) earning Second-Team All-Conference with a 12th-place run. The team was also seventh at the NCAA East Regional Championship, as Sylvester posted a new personal best to finish 13th.

Men's Ice Hockey (14-14-2, 10-9-1 NE10)
- SNHU ice hockey advanced to the Northeast-10 Championship game and suffered a heartbreaking, 3-2 loss in double-overtime at Assumption University.
- The Penmen finished third in the conference and recorded playoff wins over #6 seed Post University and at #2 seed Saint Michael's College 5-1 in the semifinals.
- Sophomore Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) led the Penmen in scoring eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points this season. 
- Sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) finished as the team's top goal scorer with 13.
- Senior Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) had 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points.
- Freshman Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) was named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie team.  He played in 15 games for the Penmen, including starts in both playoff wins over Post and Saint Michael's.  Berke made a school record 72 saves in the NE10 Championship game.
