Female Athlete of the Week: Mackenzie Bruggeman - Softball - Jr., 1B
Mackenzie Bruggeman (Trumbull, Conn.) went 9-for-23 (.391) with four extra-base hits, including a home run, eight RBI and two runs scored. She also drew five walks in slashing .483/.652/1.135. Bruggeman was 3-for-5 with a pair of walks and two RBI in a doubleheader split with Saint Anselm College on Tuesday, and then went 3-for-4 with two walks and two RBI in a sweep of Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday.

Male Athlete of the Week: Dyrenson Wouters - Baseball - So., SS
Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) batted .500 (11-22) with a home run, six RBI and seven runs scored during a 4-2 week for baseball. Wouters, who was 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts, slashed .560/.773/1.333. He had four multi-hit performances during the six-game stretch, including a pair of three-hit outings. In Monday's 13-8 victory at Bentley University, Wouters went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk. He then was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the 13-4 win over Saint Anselm College on Tuesday.


Cheerleading

- Cheerleading finished in third place at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College National Championships on Saturday in Daytona Beach. It marked the third consecutive season the Penmen finished third at Nationals. The Penmen finished with a score of 86.525.

Notes:
- Baseball went 4-2 last week, taking single games from Bentley University (13-8) and Saint Anselm College     (13-4) on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, before splitting doubleheaders with the College of Saint Rose on Saturday and American International College on Sunday.
- Sophomore Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) batted .500 (11-22) with a home run, six RBI and seven runs scored during the week. Wouters, who was 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts, slashed .560/.773/1.333. He had four multi-hit performances during the six-game stretch, including a pair of three-hit outings. - Freshman Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) went 8-for-24 (.333) with a pair of home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored, while slashing .346/.625/.971. Wachter, who was also 3-for-3 stealing bases, notched at least one hit and one RBI in all six games, including a 3-for-5 performance with two RBI and three runs against Bentley on.
- Senior Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) hit two more home runs to give him a league-leading 12.
- Sophomore Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) went 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in two starts during the week. DeMaro allowed four earned runs on eight hits over 13 innings, striking out 10 and walking four. DeMaro gave up three runs – two earned – on five hits, with seven punchouts and three walks, over six innings against the Hawks. He then went the distance in a seven-inning, 10-2 win over American Int'l on Sunday in the second game of the doubleheader. Carrying a one-hitter into the seventh inning, DeMaro finished with two runs on three hits over seven innings, fanning three and walking just one.
- Sophomore Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) allowed two runs – one earned – on six hits over six innings in a 5-2 win against Saint Rose in game one Saturday.

Notes:
- Softball went 6-2 last week, splitting a doubleheader at Saint Anselm College on Tuesday, before sweeping twinbills against Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday and Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. The Penmen wrapped the week by halving another doubleheader Sunday at the University of New Haven.
- Junior Mackenzie Bruggeman (Trumbull, Conn.) went 9-for-23 (.391) with four extra-base hits, including a home run, eight RBI and two runs scored. She also drew five walks in slashing .483/.652/1.135.
- Senior Alyssa DiMauro (Chester, N.H.) batted .348 (8-23) with a .423 on-base percentage, while scoring five run and driving one in.
- Sophomore Peyton Feldman (Foxborough, Mass.) hit .345 (10-29) with four RBI and three runs scored.
- Sophomore Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa.) was 8-for-25 (.320) and jumped on base at a .433 clip, while drawing five walks, knocking in four runs and scoring once.
- Junior Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) hit a pair of home runs and knocking in seven.
- Senior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) went 3-1 with a 1.68 ERA over four appearances, including one start. She allowed 11 hits and struck out 16, while walking only four, in 16-and-two-thirds innings. She fired four-and-a-third scoreless innings, while striking out five and allowing four hits, in a 4-3, eight-inning win against Queens. She also fanned six in three-and-a-third hitless frames in a 5-0 blanking of New Haven.
- In four outings, including a start, freshman Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.)  was a perfect 3-0 with a 2.40 ERA. She struck out 12 and walked six, while giving up 12 hits, in 11-and-two-thirds innings. She started the 5-4 win at Saint Anselm and tossed four scoreless innings, allowing four hits, while striking out four and walking three.

Notes:
- Women's lacrosse suffered a pair of losses to nationally-ranked opponents last week, falling at 18th-ranked Bentley University, 22-14, Wednesday, before losing at 21st-ranked Assumption University, 17-7, on Saturday.
- Graduate student Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) tallied six goals and an assist for seven points, while collecting four ground balls, five draw controls and a caused turnover. Renaud racked up four goals, an assist, three ground balls, four draw controls and a caused turnover at Bentley. She also scored a pair of goals at Assumption.
- Fellow grad student Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) also notched seven points on six goals and an assist, while adding eight draw controls and a ground ball. A big chunk of her production – five goals, an assist, six draws and a ground ball – came versus the Falcons. 
- Graduate student Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) scored three times against the Greyhounds.
- Senior Alexis DeLucia (Uncasville, Conn.) broke the program's all-time draw controls record that stood for 12 years, overtaking Emily Mongeau (2009-12), who collected 300 during her career.
- Senior goalkeeper Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) started both contests and stopped 14 of 43 shots over 81:48 of action. She made eight saves on 24 shots versus the Falcons.
- Freshman Nicole Mirra (Cicero, N.Y.) made five saves on 15 bids in 21:27 of game time, including turning away four of 10 at Bentley.

Notes:
- Men's lacrosse suffered a 19-15 loss to No. 14 Bentley University on Sunday, as the Falcons erased an 11-5 deficit to spoil Senior Day for the Penmen.
- Freshman Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) scored a career-high five goals, added an assist and scooped up a pair of ground balls.
- Senior Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) tallied four goals and an assist.
- Graduate student Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) also found the back of the net four times.
- Defensively, senior Kyle Proulx (Londonderry, N.H.) caused three turnovers.
- Graduate student Gennaro Marra (Hampstead, N.H.) collected 17 ground balls.
- Senior Ronan DePaul (Elkton, Md.) made 12 saves on 27 shot attempts in the opening 42:38.
- Junior Patrick Cassidy (Chelmsford, Mass.)  stopped four shots on eight bids in 17:05 of relief.

Notes:
- Women's track & field hosted its fifth annual Penmen Relays at Ouellette Stadium on Saturday.
- Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) captured the 3000m steeplechase in 11:54.55.
- The Penmen won the 4x200 relay, setting the program record for the event. Sophomore Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.), senior Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.), graduate student Anne Sikkema (Leeuwarden, Netherlands), sophomore Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.) combined for a 1:46.47.
- Graduate student Bennie Alula (Hartford, Conn.) won the hammer throw with a toss of 44.67m.

Notes:
- Men's tennis split a pair of matches last week, edging Assumption University, 4-3, Monday, before suffering a 5-2 loss at Adelphi University on Saturday.
- Junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) went 3-1, including a pair of No. 3 singles wins. Nadeau was a 6-2, 6-4 winner against Adrian Toderascu in the win at Assumption and then downed Casey Recci, 6-3, 6-4, at Adelphi. He also teamed with senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) for SNHU's lone doubles win against Assumption, as they edged Yannick Heitzberg and Jakob Bordt, 6-4, at No. 1. Nadeau and Den Hartog were toppled, 6-4, by Adelphi's Marko Jovanovic and Thomas Horsely at No. 1.

- Men's golf was idle last week and is back in action Monday and Tuesday when it hosts its Penmen Spring Invitational at Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord, N.H.


Completed Seasons

Women's Soccer (10-5-5, 5-2-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 10-5-5, including 5-2-4 in the NE10, as they earned the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship and advanced to the semifinal round, before suffering a 1-0 loss to second-seeded Adelphi University.
- SNHU earned its ninth NCAA Championship berth, including its sixth straight, collecting the No. 5 seed in the East Region. The Penmen were victorious in their first-round matchup with fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan University (2-0), eventually seeing their season draw to a close with a 2-0 second-round loss to the top-ranked College of Saint Rose.
- Sophomore Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference First Team. Senior Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) collected a Second Team honor, while graduate student Victoria Roulston (E. Falmouth, Mass.) was named to the Third Team. Freshman Liv Gantelius (Lidingoe, Sweden) claimed an All-Rookie Team.


Men's Soccer (10-6-4, 4-5-1 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's soccer closed its season with a 10-6-4 mark, including 4-5-1 in the NE10. The team, which began the season with a six-match unbeaten streak (4-0-2), became just the second No. 7 seed in the history of the NE10 Championship to reach the title match, falling to top-ranked Franklin Pierce University on penalty kicks, 6-5, after battling to a 1-1 draw.
- SNHU secured its 23rd NCAA tournament berth and first since 2016, earning the No. 9 seed in Super Region 1, but fell to eighth-seeded Bloomsburg University, 2-1, in the opening round.
- Sophomore Iago Perez (Oleiros, Spain), senior Nicolas Gonzalez (Santander, Spain) and junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) all earned NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors. Graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain) collected Third Team recognition, while sophomore Tyler Kraft (Londonderry, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.


Women's Volleyball (13-13, 6-5 NE10)

Notes:
-  Women's volleyball finished 13-13, including 6-5 in league play, as they claimed the No. 5 seed and upset fourth-seeded American International College in five sets in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Championship. After dropping another five-set decision in the semifinals at top-seeded Adelphi University, SNHU received its second straight NCAA Championship berth as the No. 6 seed in the East Region and suffered yet another five-set defeat to third-seeded Bentley University in the quarterfinals.
- Redshirt-senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-America, All-Region and All-Conference First Team. Pimenta was chosen as an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA East All-Region First Team and NE10 All-Conference First Team.


Field Hockey (10-8, 9-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Field hockey shook off a 1-3 start to win nine of its next 14 contests to end the regular season and earn the No. 5 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen wound up suffering a 1-0 defeat at fourth-seeded Pace University in the quarterfinal round.
- The Penmen posted a signature win at home Oct. 4, defeating fifth-ranked Saint Anselm College, 4-1, for the first win over the Hawks in program history. SNHU had lost 16 straight to its cross-town rival.
- Freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and landed a spot on the All-Conference First Team, setting a new program mark for goals by a first-year player with 14, which led the team.
- van de Poll was joined on the First Team by junior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands). Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands) earned Second Team honors, junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) claimed a Third Team accolade and freshman Jade Hendriks (Huissen, The Netherlands) received an All-Rookie Team nod.


Cross Country

Notes:
- Women's cross country put together another stellar season, as it finished by qualifying for the NCAA National Championship for the third time in program history. The team placed fourth at the NE10 Championship, with senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) slotting in fourth to earn NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) and senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) collected Second Team recognition. The team finished third at the NCAA East Regional Championship, punching its ticket to Nationals for the second consecutive season. Seamans was eighth, overall. The Penmen finished in 33rd place in Joplin, Mo.
- The men were sixth at the NE10 Championship, with junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) earning Second-Team All-Conference with a 12th-place run. The team was also seventh at the NCAA East Regional Championship, as Sylvester posted a new personal best to finish 13th.

Women's Basketball (17-11, 15-7 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's basketball won 17 of its first 22 games, earning the No. 4 seed in the NE10 Championship, before falling at home to fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinal round.
- SNHU claimed its third straight NCAA Championship berth, garnering the No. 5-seed. It met 30-1 Thomas Jefferson University and fell, 91-89, in overtime.
- Graduate student Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) was crowned a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches' All-American. After earning Honorable Mention last season, she is the first two-time All-American in program history and the first to make the 10-member Coaches' team since 1990. Timberlake, who started all 28 games this season, tallying 18.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 steals per contest, while shooting 41.7 percent (183-439) from the field, 31.6 percent (54-171) from long range and 73.1 percent (95-130) at the stripe, was also a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team selection, the NE10 Player of the Year and an NE10 All-Conference First Teamer for the second consecutive season.
- Senior Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) captured NE10 Second Team accolades and freshman Abby Wager (Mansfield, Mass.) received an All-Rookie Team nod. 


Men's Basketball (24-11, 13-9 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's basketball put together its best season in nearly a decade, finishing with 24 wins for the first time since 2014-15. The Penmen finished a the fifth seed in the NE10, but captured their third NE10 title and first since 2016. SNHU kept it rolling, capturing its eighth NCAA regional crown and first since 2015 to reach the Elite Eight. That victory extended the Penmen win streak to 10 and gave them seven consecutive postseason wins for the first time in program history.
- SNHU, the seventh seed in Evansville, Ind., held a 17-point lead early in the second half, but second-seeded and top-ranked Nova Southeastern University chipped away and eventually secured a 68-60 victory in the NCAA Championship National Quarterfinals.
- Graduate student Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) collected National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) East All-District First Team, Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team and NE10 Academic All-Conference honors this season. He started all 35 games, netting 16.4 points on 43.7 percent (179-410) shooting from the field, including 44.8 percent (129-288) from behind the arc, and 89.7 percent (87-97) from the stripe. Becht, who was named the NCAA East Regional Championship and NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, led the nation in 3-pointers made and ranked eighth in 3-point field goal percentage.
- Junior Derrick Grant Jr. (Plainfield, N.J.) received an NE10 All-Defensive Team nod. He averaged 1.1 blocks per game, while posting career highs in scoring (10.4) and rebounding (6.0).


Men's Ice Hockey (14-14-2, 10-9-1 NE10)

Notes:
- SNHU ice hockey advanced to the Northeast-10 Championship game and suffered a heartbreaking, 3-2 loss in double-overtime at Assumption University.
- The Penmen finished third in the conference and recorded playoff wins over No. 6 seed Post University (4-1) in the first round and at second-seeded Saint Michael's College (5-1) in the semifinals.
- Sophomore Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) led the Penmen in scoring with eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points this season. 
- Sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) finished as the team's top goal scorer with 13.
- Senior Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) had 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points.
- Freshman Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) was named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team. He played in 15 games for the Penmen, including starts in both playoff wins over Post and Saint Michael's.  Berke made a school record 72 saves in the NE10 Championship game.
