Junior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) shot a spring-best, even-par 72 Tuesday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team finished fifth at the Penmen Spring Invitational at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS

• Pepin finished tied for 15th at 3-over par after an opening-round 75.
• Senior Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.) followed up his 71 from Monday with a 5-over par 77 to finish tied for 17th.
• Sophomore Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) shot a 150 (76-74) and finished at 6-over.
• Sophomore Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) also finished up at 6-over. He followed up a 74 with a 76.

NOTES

• Freshman Drew Cameron (Londonderry, N.H.) wound up tied for 41st after shooting 79. Senior Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.), playing as an individual, shot a 74 on Tuesday, to finish up at 6-over and tied for 22nd.
• Freshman Mitchell Cormier (Walpole, N.H.), also playing as an individual, shot a 77, bettering his first-round score by one.
• Post University (284-293) edged Saint Anselm College (284-296) in the team competition.  Franklin Pierce University (294-291) and Assumption University (293-292) tied for third at 9-over par. The Ravens had the low round on Tuesday at plus-3.
• Assumption's Sean Magarian shot a second consecutive 70 to win the individual crown at 4-under par. First-round leader Bill Koch of Post was second at 3-under. Saint Anselm's Robbie Forti finished at 2-under.
• The Penmen Spring Invitational was comprised of 55 golfers from nine different institutions.

WHAT'S NEXT

• The Penmen will compete at The Oaks in Somersworth on Thursday.  The 18-hole Hawk Spring Invitational will be hosted by Saint Anselm College.
