Junior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) fired an even-par 71 in the second round of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship on Friday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team climbed four spots to 14th at the Oglebay Resort-Jones Course.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Pepin shaved eight strokes off his opening-round with the 71 and is tied for 30th with a 150.
- Senior Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.), who had his 85 dropped from the team score in the first round, rebounded in a big way with a 75 to total up a 160.
- Sophomore Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), who was four strokes off the lead following the first round, carded a 76 and is tied for 22nd with a 149.
- Sophomore Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with an 81 for a two-round total of 160.
NOTES
- Senior Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) had his 83 dropped from the team score and is at 164 for the tournament.
- Gannon University (576) is currently in first place with a 10-stroke lead over the University of Charleston (296).
- Gannon's Michael Wareham continues to sit atop the individual leaderboard with a 5-under 137, as he followed up Thursday's 69 with a 68 in the second round. He holds a four-shot lead over teammate Shaunak Rama (141) and Davis & Elkins College's Matin Eisa (141).
- The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship is comprised of 108 golfers from 26 different institutions. Twenty teams qualified, as well as eight individual golfers from six schools.
