MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student
Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was chosen as the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 15.
Michael played a key role in a defensive effort that limited Wilmington (Del.) University to just eight shots, including five on target, in a 3-1 victory Friday night.
The team is now 2-0-1 to begin the year and has allowed just a single goal, as it has outshot opponents, 35-24. The Penmen rank second in the league in both goals allowed and goals-against average (0.33).
The Penmen are back in action Tuesday (1 p.m.) when they play host to Daemen University in a rare weekday matinee at Ouellette Stadium.
