KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU trailed, 19-12, nearly nine minutes into the contest when a 20-6 blitz flipped that seven-point deficit into a seven-point lead (32-25) with 5:10 to play in the first. Nwachukwu contributed the first 11 during the run. The Penmen took a 41-34 advantage into the break.
  • Caldwell rallied and established a 63-60 lead with 11:44 remaining. SNHU embarked on a 15-2 run 13 seconds later to grab the lead for good at 75-65 with 7:09 to play. Nwachukwu scored seven during the stretch.
  • Caldwell slashed its deficit to two (82-80) with 1:32 on the clock, but seven straight from sophomore Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) powered a 9-0 rush that sealed the victory.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire halts its opening-day losing streak at three. This was the first win for SNHU in its season opener since Nov. 12, 2021 when it scored a 67-58 victory at Caldwell to extend its winning streak in season openers to 14.
  • The 91 points were the most for SNHU since a 95-69 win against Saint Michael's College on Nov. 26 of last season. They were also the most points in a road contest since a 99-79 victory at the College of Staten Island on Nov. 11, 2023.
  • The double-double is the fifth of Nwachukwu's career.
  • Wallace poured in 24 points (9-22 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 4-6 FT) to go with six rebounds and two assists. He scored 18 in the second half.
