Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds to help the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team open the season with a 68-55 victory over Post University Friday at the Saint Anselm College Opener.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU jumped out to a 16-15 lead after the first quarter, then clamped down defensively, holding Post to just five points in the second to take a 35-20 halftime advantage.
- Senior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) scored eight of her team-high 15 points in the opening half to help the Penmen pull away.
- Junior Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) hit back-to-back three-pointers midway through the third quarter to keep momentum on SNHU's side.
