Wheaton Breaks Her One-Day Old School Record in 60 Hurdles

The Southern New Hampshire University Indoor Track & Field program closed out its opening weekend with another round of exceptional performances at Saturday's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University. One day after breaking the 60-meter hurdles school record, junior Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) lowered the standard again with a dominant run on the BU track.


KEY MOMENTS

  • Wheaton won the 60m hurdles in 8.86 seconds, improving on the 8.97 she ran just 24 hours earlier at the Plymouth State Winter Classic.
  • She also added a personal best in the 200 meters, clocking 27.08.
  • Senior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.), who set the SNHU 60m school record on Friday, carried her momentum into Saturday with a new personal best of 42.85 in the 300 meters.
  • Sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) turned in a standout race of her own, running a program-best 41.96 in the 300 meters.
  • Graduate student Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) and sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) each recorded new personal bests in the mile.
