DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - SNHU Cheer recorded it's high score in program history and sits in third-place at the NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach heading into today's finale. The Penmen will perform at the Bandshell at 5:08 p.m.

SNHU Cheer – 2025 NCA Nationals Recap: Thursday – Prelims Day 1
What. A. Day.
We started off strong with a focused morning grass practice where the athletes SHOWED UP READY AND CONFIDENT. You could feel it from the start — the energy was next level. After practice, we headed back to regroup, grab some lunch, and get into performance mode. Hair, makeup, uniforms — the excitement started building as we prepared to take the mat for the first time at the bandshell. Once on site, we warmed up stunts on the grass before heading into official warmups. The team was locked in.
At 4:41 PM, SNHU Cheer took the floor! With a roster made up of half newcomers, these athletes went out and got the job DONE. We ended the day sitting in 3rd place out of 7 in our division, and most exciting of all — we earned the highest score our program has ever received at NCA Nationals! We had some standout performances today, especially from our veteran Haleigh B and our rookie Chasey F, both of whom brought power and grit to the mat.
We're heading into Day 2 with confidence— and we're not done yet!
Quote of the Day from Coach McCarty:
"This year we have has the highest difficulty with skills the program has yet to have. I know we had some uncharacteristic mistakes on the mat, but we are anxious to fix them early Friday morning with some practice. We watched our video of the performance and know what it is that we need to do. Overall, I'm proud of them and excited to see what they bring tomorrow. I know we have bigger and better in the tank. We're going to find it."
