Junior Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) carded an even-par 72 in Friday's opening round, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team is tied for fifth at its Penmen Spring Invitational in Concord at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Rollins' first round has him tied for ninth place – six shots off the pace.
- Freshman Sam Maurice (Auburn, N.H.) is tied for 15th with a 2-over 74.
- Senior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) shot a 75 to tie for 20th.
- Freshman Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) turned in a 76 to round out the Penmen scorers.
NOTES
- Junior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) had his 78 dropped from the team score.
- Graduate student Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.), playing as an individual, is tied for 20th with a 75.
- Freshman Stephen Ramos (Danville, N.H.), also playing as an individual, shot a 76.
- Sophomores Drew Cameron (Londonderry, N.H.) and Mitchell Cormier (Walpole, N.H.), two more individuals, each penciled in an 80.
- Wilmington (Del.) University is in the lead with an even-par 288, which is four shots better than Saint Anselm College (292).
- Franklin Pierce University's Seth Saffell fired a 6-under 66 and sits atop the individual leaderboard. He is three shots ahead of Wilmington's Noah Wallace.
- Rollins' six birdies were the second most in the opening round, while Korkuc's four were tied for fifth.
- The Penmen Spring Invitational is comprised of 45 golfers from seven different institutions.
