MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) and sophomore Albert Modol (Lleida, Spain) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team were selected to the NE10 All-Conference First Team as a doubles duo, highlighting four Penmen that earned All-Conference honors when the league office announced its end-of-the-year accolades Friday.
Roeder and Modol received the First Team honor at No. 2 doubles, where they went 6-2. The duo is 8-7, overall, this season, and went 7-2 in league play.
Senior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) was named to the NE10 Second Team at No. 1 singles. The two-time NE10 Player of the Week (Oct. 8, April 15) is 9-11 on the year and went 6-4 in NE10 action – all at the top flight.
Sophomore Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) joined Nadeau on the Second Team at No. 5 singles, where he went 3-1. The March 25 NE10 Player of the Week is 7-4 this season and finished 4-2 within the conference.
Nadeau and Molero also made the Second Team as a doubles duo at the top flight. They are 5-1 this season, finishing NE10 play at 4-1 – all at No. 1 doubles.
The Penmen (6-12, 5-5 NE10) earned the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship, which begins Saturday (May 3) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. SNHU battles second-seeded Franklin Pierce University at 3 p.m. in the semifinal round. The winner advances to Sunday's title match.
