Four SNHU program records were broken as Women's Track & Field finished in third place at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The 2025 meet was held at Ouellette Stadium in Hooksett.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Tori Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) started the day for the Penmen by winning the Heptathlon for the second time in her career. She broke her school mark set in 2022 with 4355 points.
- Junior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) finished third in both the 100m and 200m races, setting new program marks at both distances. She ran 12.14 in the 100 and 24.94 in the 200m
- Sophomore Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) set a new program mark in the 100H, finishing sixth with a time of 14.82.
- Junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) repeated as an NE10 winner in the 3000S, running the event in 11:26.40. She came back later to run 19:13.09 in the 5000m, finishing fifth.
- Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) had a pair of second-place finishes Saturday in the shot put (13.32m) and discus (43.19m). The discus throw was a new PR.
- Freshman Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) set a new PR while running third in the 400m at 57.07 seconds. She also finished 6th in the 200m at 25.72.
NOTES
- Freshman Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) ran fourth in the Steeplechase and 8th after qualifying for the 800m final.
- Freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) finished 6th in the 800m
- Sophomore Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) and Wheaton finished 7th and 8th in the 400 hurdles.
- The Penmen finished 5th in the 4x400 relay (Sinclair, Sippel, freshman Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.), Wheelock).
- SNHU was 6th in the 4x100 relay (Sinclair, Sippel, Wheaton, and junior Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.)
- This is the third time Southern New Hampshire has hosted the Outdoor Track & Field Championships. SNHU won the meet when it was last contested here May 5-6, 2023.
- Southern Connecticut State (246) won the women's competition with the University of New Haven in second place (145).
- SNHU earned two Queen City Cup points by edging Saint Anselm College (117.50) for third place to clinch the annual competition (23-17).
- Southern Connecticut State also won the men's competition on Saturday.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The NEICAAA New England Championships are scheduled for May 9-10 at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
