Men's Golf Ninth at End of First Round at NCAA Atlantic/East Regional

Juniors Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) carded a 2-over 74 in Thursday's opening round of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team slotted in ninth through the first 18 holes at Whispering Woods Golf Club.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
  • Rollins is tied for 11th, six strokes behind the leader.
  • Freshman Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) and senior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) each shot 77 and are tied for 32nd.
  • Graduate student Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.) rounded out the Penmen scorers with an 82.
NOTES
  • Freshman Sam Maurice (Auburn, N.H.) had his 89 dropped from the team score.
  • Junior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) did not play the round, but is with the team as a substitute.
  • Davis & Elkins College (294) leads California University of Pennsylvania (299) by five shots.
  • Davis & Elkins' Aidan Talent (68) sits atop the individual leaderboard, two strokes in front of St. Thomas Aquinas College's Nolan Skaggs (70).
  • Surprenant tallied one of two eagles in the round.
  • The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional is comprised of 100 golfers from 20 different institutions, as well as eight golfers playing as individuals from seven different schools.
