Senior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) fired the tournament's lowest round to this point Friday with a 5-under 67 that skyrocketed him up the individual leaderboard, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team is tied for 10th through the first two rounds of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Pepin jumped from 32nd to third with an even-par 144 (77/67) that has him three strokes back of the leader.
- Freshman Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) turned in an 81 and is tied for 52nd with a 158 (77/81).
- Junior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), who subbed in for the second round, shot an 84.
- Junior Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) and graduate student Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.) both submitted an 87 on their scorecard, with one being dropped from the team score. Rollins is tied for 67th with a 161 (74/87), while Korkuc has a 169 (82/87).
NOTES
- Freshman Sam Maurice (Auburn, N.H.), who shot an 89 in the opening round, was substituted out of the lineup for round two.
- Gannon University shot 1-over to jump into first place at 588, which is six strokes in front of Davis & Elkins College (594).
- Davis & Elkins' Aidan Talent (68/73) still sits atop the individual leaderboard at 3-under 141, two strokes in front of Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen (72/71).
- Pepin's nine birdies are tied for the fourth most in the tournament.
- The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional is comprised of 100 golfers from 20 different institutions, as well as eight golfers playing as individuals from seven different schools.
