Freshman Julia Petersen (Salem, N.H.) established a new career high with six kills, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to East Stroudsburg University on Friday evening in the first of three matches this weekend for the Penmen at the Koehler Fieldhouse.
NOTES
- The all-time series is now even at 1-1, as the teams met for the first time since 2014 – a five-set road win for the Penmen.
- Freshman Sophie Chevalier (Charlton, N.Y.) and sophomore Jordyn Carroll (Moultonborough, N.H.) also each added six kills.
- Sophomore Ariana Davila (Austin Texas) dished nine-plus assists for the fourth straight match, as she collected 19 helpers.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen are back in action Saturday (Sept. 20) for two more matches at East Stroudsburg. They take on Georgian Court University at 1:30 p.m., followed by Queens (N.Y.) College at 4 p.m.
- SNHU is back home Tuesday, Sept. 23 (6 p.m.) when it plays host to Assumption at the Field House.
