NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Junior Jade Hendriks (Huissen, Netherlands) and freshman Agustina Miranda Waigand (Miami, Fla.) were honored Monday with weekly awards from the Northeast 10 Conference.
Hendriks, named Defensive Player of the Week, registered two defensive saves and added an assist in last Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Assumption in the NE10 opener on Larkin Field. She also anchored the defense in Saturday's hard-fought 2-0 setback against Adelphi.
Miranda Waigand, earning her second Rookie of the Week award, started both contests in goal for the Penmen. She posted her second shutout of the season against Assumption, making a season- and career-high 14 saves. She followed that effort with five saves while conceding just one goal in the matchup with Adelphi.
The Penmen (5-3, 1-1 NE10) will visit Bentley University on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., before returning to Larkin Field on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. to host Franklin Pierce University.
