Several individual personal marks were set by SNHU Indoor Track & Field on Saturday at the Gordon Kelly Invitational, hosted by MIT in Cambridge, Mass.

Top takeaways from the meet included strong middle-distance performances, encouraging freshman contributions, and solid depth across the lineup.

Middle-distance group leads the way

Sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) delivered one of SNHU's top performances of the day, finishing third in the 600 meters with a time of 1:40.92 to earn a podium spot in a competitive field. She was followed closely by sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.), who placed fifth at 1:41.71, giving the Penmen two top-five finishes in the event. Junior Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) also competed in the 600 meters, finishing 12th while setting a new personal record of 1:46.88.

Freshmen make immediate impact

Several first-year athletes gained valuable experience and produced strong results. Jordyn Wall-Carty (Woodridge, N.Y.) led the jumpers with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (4.95m) while also competing in both the 60 meters, where she set a new personal best of 8.08 seconds, and the 200 meters. Lily Bower (Billerica, Mass.) added a 14th-place finish in the long jump, while Lindy Moreland (Gorham, Maine) contributed across multiple events, including the hurdles, high jump, and 4x400 relay. Moreland posted a season-best time of 9.75 in the 60-meter hurdles.

Depth on display across the distance events

SNHU placed athletes throughout the distance races, highlighted by sophomore Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) recording a 10th-place finish in the 1,000 meters with a new personal best of 3:08.86. Graduate student Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) also competed in the 1,000 meters and anchored the 4x400 relay. Junior Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.) raced in the mile, while junior Kora Hay (Coventry, R.I.) represented the Penmen in the 3,000 meters, recording a personal-best time of 11:42.58.
