Indoor Track & Field Rallies Into Third Place at Northeast 10 Championships

Solid Meet Highlighted by Hope Sinclair, Erika Wojcik Wins Friday

When and Where: February 20, 2026 – Northeast 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships (Final Day)
Location: the TRACK at New Balance – Boston, Mass.
Result:  3rd of 8 (82.5 points)

The SNHU women's track & field team closed out the Northeast 10 Indoor Championships with two individual event titles Friday, as senior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) and sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) each captured conference crowns to lead the Penmen to a third-place team finish. Sinclair won the 60-meter dash in a program-record 7.65 seconds, breaking her own previous school record of 7.74. Wojcik added a dominant victory in the 800 meters, crossing the line first in 2:15.18 to secure 10 team points.

Sinclair's record-setting 60-meter performance highlighted the day, as she surged to the conference title and etched her name atop the program record book once again. She added another podium finish in the 200 meters, placing third in 25.32 to score six additional points. Her 16 total points on the day were instrumental in SNHU's move into third place overall.

Mid-distance excellence

Wojcik controlled the 800-meter final to claim the Northeast 10 championship in 2:15.18, earning 10 team points and giving SNHU its third event title of the meet, with freshman Lindy Moreland (Gorham, Maine) winning the pentathlon on Thursday.

Track podium performances

• 400 meters: Sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) finished second in 57.39, earning eight team points.
• 60-meter hurdles: Junior Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) placed fifth in the final (9.01) to score four points.

Distance scoring

• 3,000 meters: Graduate student Corinna Obernesser (Westminster Colorado) finished fifth (10:46.96), while junior Deirdre Bailat (No. Billerica, Mass.) placed sixth (10:49.45), combining for seven points.

Field event points

• High jump: Freshman Lindy Moreland cleared 1.55m to finish fourth, while Wheaton tied for fifth at 1.50m.
• Shot put: Senior Brooke Bibbo (Burlington, Mass.) placed seventh (11.38m) to score two points.
• Long jump: Freshman Jordyn Wall-Carty (Woodridge, N.Y.) added two points with a seventh-place finish (5.12m).

Relay finishes

• 4x800 relay: The SNHU "A" team of Obernesser, freshman Erin Kelley (Braintree, Mass.), Bailat, and Wojcik placed fifth (10:07.97) to add four more points.
• 4x400 relay: The quartet of Sippel, freshman Lily Bower (Billerica, Mass.),  Wall-Carty, and junior Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) placed third in 4:01.17, adding six team points in the final event of the meet.

Freshman Jordyn Wall-Carty (Woodridge, N.Y.) also scored for the Penmen with a seventh-place finish in the long jump (5.12m).

Finals Qualifiers – Day 2

SNHU advanced multiple athletes to Friday finals on the track:

• Senior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) qualified for both the 60-meter dash final (7.74) and the 200-meter final (25.32).
• Sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) advanced to the 400-meter final after running 58.25 in prelims.
• Sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) earned an automatic qualifier in the 800 meters (2:18.86).
• Junior Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) advanced to the 60-meter hurdles final (8.92).

Team finish

Behind two individual event titles and multiple podium performances, the Penmen surged into third place overall in the final women's team standings, capping a strong two-day showing at the TRACK at New Balance.   Southern Connecticut earned the men's and women's championships.  The Saint Anselm women (101.5 points) finished in second place ahead of the Penmen.
