NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – After another dominant week on the offensive end, sophomore Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team was named the Northeast 10 Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 22, the league office announced Monday.
The honor marks Wallace's fourth weekly award of the season and his second consecutive selection. He continued his torrid stretch by averaging 27.5 points per game while shooting 59.4 percent (19-for-32) from the field, including a blistering 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from beyond the arc, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. He also added 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest.
Wallace poured in 24 points (8-for-13 FG, 4-for-4 3FG, 4-for-7 FT), along with four rebounds and two assists, in a 104-76 win over Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday. He followed that performance with 31 points (11-for-19 FG, 5-for-7 3FG, 4-for-5 FT) and three rebounds in Saturday's 81-65 victory at Pace University.
In 25 games this season, Wallace is averaging 23.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 48.3 percent (222-for-460) from the field, 41.5 percent (49-for-118) from 3-point range and 73.3 percent (99-for-135) from the free throw line. He leads the Northeast 10 in scoring (by 5.7 points per game), field goals made and free throws made, ranks fourth in 3-pointers made and is among the top 20 in 3-point field goal percentage, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, steals and assists.
Wallace and the Penmen (13-13, 7-10 Northeast 10) will play their final regular-season game Wednesday, Feb. 25 (7:30 p.m.) when they travel to Bentley University.
