Silfen Invitational Tune-Up for Pair of SNHU Runners

Wojcik places second in 800 meters; Bailat competes in 5,000

The SNHU women's track & field team sent a pair of athletes to compete Friday at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, as both continued preparation for the upcoming Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) turned in a strong performance in her race, placing second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.44.

Junior Deirdre Bailat (Billerica, Mass.) competed in the 5,000 meters, finishing 26th overall with a time of 18:36.06.

Both athletes used the meet as a tune-up opportunity as SNHU continues to prepare for the Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 1–2.
