Corrina Moulton (Barre, Vt.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team earned NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors and redshirt-freshman
Piper Knowlton (Chester, N.H.) collected an NE10 Rookie of the Week nod, both for the period ending March 8, the league office announced Monday.
Moulton stopped 22 of the 37 shots she faced during a 2-0 week for the Penmen, playing all but 5:27 of the two contests. Moulton made nine saves in a 14-11 win at Roberts Wesleyan University on Wednesday, before turning away 13 of 17 in 54:33 of action in Saturday's 18-6 triumph over Molloy University.
Knowlton, who also received the honor last week (March 2), registered 11 points on six goals and five assists, while adding three ground balls and a caused turnover. Knowlton tallied a goal and three assists at Roberts Wesleyan, before leading the way against Molloy with five goals and a pair of helpers.
Moulton has played in all five games, starting the last three. She is 2-1 with an 11.26 goals-against average (GAA) and .505 save percentage, turning away 46 of the 91 shots she has faced of 239:45 of action. She sits second in the NE10 in save percentage and saves per game (9.2), while placing third in GAA.
Knowlton has started all five games for the Penmen, notching 20 points on 14 goals and six assists to pace the team in all three categories. She also has eight groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers. Knowlton leads the conference in points and goals, while tying for fifth in assists.
Moulton, Knowlton and the Penmen (2-3) played earlier Monday, and are right back at it Wednesday (March 11) when they open NE10 play at home against Saint Michael's College at 3 p.m..
