Five From Softball Land on CSC Academic All-District Team

Colbert, DeMoura and Abbott are eligible for Academic All-America recognition

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Juniors Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) and Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.), sophomore Alyssa Abbott (Hudson, N.H.), junior Mikaya Alto (Chelmsford, Mass.) and senior Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.), all of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team, received Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, honors recently.

Colbert completed her season with a 20-8 record and a 2.05 ERA, while her 241 strikeouts tied the program's single-season record. Colbert was named East All-Region First Team by both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), in addition to earning D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year, NE10 Pitcher of the Year and NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. The education major with a 3.82 grade-point average, led the East Region in wins, strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings (8.5), complete games (23) and WHIP (1.13), while ranking second in ERA, innings pitched (198.1), and hits allowed per seven innings (5.33), and fourth in shutouts (5) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.30)

DeMoura, a education major with a 3.84 GPA, was honored as the East All-Region Second Team third baseman by both the NFCA and D2CCA, while also collecting an NE10 All-Conference First Team accolade. DeMoura hit .399 this season, the highest batting average for the Penmen in seven seasons, while collecting a team-high 71 hits, including 14 doubles, two triples, and one home run. She drove in 32 runs, second-most on the team, and posted a team-best .472 on-base percentage. DeMoura ranked third in the region in hits and HBP (12), seventh in OBP, 14th in batting and 19th in runs (38).

Abbott also earned D2CCA East All-Region Second Team outfield recognition and NE10 Second Team honors. Abbott, who is a psychology major with a 3.87 GPA, hit .331 with six doubles, one home run, and 26 RBIs.

Alto, who was also an NE10 Second Teamer, batted .335 with nine extra-base hits, 29 RBI and a .451 OBP. She ranked fifth in the region in walks per game (.54). Alto is a marketing major with a 3.86 GPA.

Feldman hit .278 with 10 doubles, 24 RBI and 39 runs scored, ranking 17th in the region in runs. She was a biology major with a 3.85 GPA.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists, which Colbert, DeMoura and Abbott are, are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16.
