NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Field hockey sophomore Agustina Miranda Waigand (Miami, Fla.) was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
Miranda Waigand made a combined 13 saves in the first two games of the season, making eight saves against #8 Bloomsburg, and five more against #9 Bentley in a 2-1, shootout win. Her stellar play in the shootout helped secure Head Coach Julie Munson's 100th career win.
Miranda Waigand was twice named an NE10 Rookie of the Week last season, and was named to the All-Conference Rookie Team.
The Penmen (1-1) will head to Orangeburg, N.Y. on Saturday (Sept. 12) to meet Dominican (N.Y.) at 3:30 p.m. The Chargers are in their inaugural season of play.
