TYNGSBORO, Mass. -
Junior Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) led the
Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team with a two-day
score of 153 to lead the Penmen to an 8th place finish at the 2007
Northeast-10 Golf Championship held Sunday and Monday at Vesper
Country Club. Maziarz's efforts, good for a tie for eighth
overall, earned him Northeast-10 Second Team All-Conference
honors.
The Penmen finished with a two-day
total of 643, carding a 329 on day one and a 314 Monday.
Southern New Hampshire posted the fifth-highest score on the second
day.
Maziarz shot an opening round 79
then bettered his score by five strokes on Monday to card a
74. Freshman Michael Gravalese (Atkinson,
NH) was the next highest Penmen finisher, posting a score of 160
with round scores of 82 and 78. DJ Lantz
(New London, NH) was next with a 165, while Matt
Luccese (Woburn, MA) carded a 166. Shane
Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) rounded out the finishers for
SNHU with a 167 over the two-day event.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Sunday, October 14 and Monday, October 15 when it hosts the
SNHU Penmen Invitational at Manchester Country Club in Bedford, NH.
