BREWSTER, Mass. -
Freshman D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) of the
Southern New Hampshire University golf team finished tied for 28th
place out of 211 golfers as the Penmen finished 23rd out of 42
teams and seventh among Division II schools at the 73rd annual New
England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship held
at the Captains' Golf Club. The two-day event started Monday
and concluded Tuesday afternoon.
Lantz, who finished tied for 10th
among Division II players, finished with a two-day score of
77-78-155, 11 strokes behind overall medalist Brian Cawley
(70-74-144) of Salem State and six shots back of co-Division II
medalists Garrett Beyor of American International College and Rob
Younker of Assumption College, who each finished with two-day
totals of 149.
Matt Lucchese
(Salem, MA) was SNHU's next-highest finisher, posting a two-day
score of 159 to finish tied for 63rd. Andrew
Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) finished in a tie for 94th
overall with a 163, while Shane Winslow
(Portsmouth, NH) was in a 128th-place tie with a score of 167.
