MATT DELANEY NAMED CoSIDA
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Senior
Matt Delaney (Wallasey, England) of the Southern
New Hampshire University men's soccer team was named to the 2007
College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Men's
Soccer College Division All-District Team, it was announced on
Thursday. Delaney, a senior sport management major carrying a
3.83 grade point average, was selected to the second team
Delaney, who recently wrapped up
his second season at Southern New Hampshire, has started all
40 games in which the Penmen have played. He has anchored a
backline that allowed 18 goals in 17 regular season games this
season and posted six shutouts. He was also SNHU's
leading scorer with five goals for 10 points in 2007, and over his
two seasons Delaney has recorded 11 goals and three assists
for 25 points. He also helped lead the Penmen to a NCAA
Tournament berth in 2006.
Earlier this season, Delaney was a
Northeast-10 First Team All-Academic Team selection. In 2006,
Delaney was named Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference and was
also named to the NSCAA All-New England Second Team.
