RESULTS

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. - The Southern New Hampshire golf team opened the 2007-08 season Sunday and Monday when it competed in the Dowling College September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Course.  The Penmen placed 12th out of 16 schools with a two-day total of 644.  Assumption College captured the event with a two-day total of 605.

Leading the way for Southern New Hampshire was freshman Mike Gravalese (Atkinson, NH) who fired 78 on both days to post a two-day total of 156, good for 17th overall.  Senior Matt Lucchese (Woburn, MA) and junior Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) finished in a tie for 29th with a two-day total of 160.  Maziarz went 79-81-160, while Lucchese posted a 78 on day two after a first-round 82.

Sophomore Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) finished with an 84 each day for a two-day total of 168, while freshman DJ Lantz (New London, NH) went 84-88-172 over the two day event.

The Southern New Hampshire golf team returns to action next Sunday and Monday when it travels to Syracuse, NY to compete in the ECAC Division II Championship at Drumlins Golf Club.
