LEOMINSTER, Mass. - Casey Stoodley (Salem, NH) delivered a two-out two-run double in the top of the eighth inning as Southern New Hampshire University posted a 2-0, extra-inning win in game two of a Northeast-10 softball doubleheader against Franklin Pierce University Monday afternoon.  The Ravens took a 2-1 win in the first game.

With the nightcap heading into extra innings scoreless, Ashley Bernstein (Stoughton, MA) got the rally started with a one-out single to left.  After the next batter flied out, Ashley Guertin (Manchester, NH) doubled to put two runners in scoring position for Stoodley, who doubled to right to drive in the game's only runs.

Mary Bradford (Big Bear, CA) earned the win on the mound, allowing just four hits en route to the shutout.  Karissa Bettencourt (Norton, MA) had three hits as part of a 5-8 effort at the plate in the doubleheader.  Stoodley was 2-3 at the plate.

In the first game, Franklin Pierce scored two runs in the bottom of the second when Kristen Tracy delivered a two-out, two-run double.  The Penmen would score their lone run in the top of the fifth when Laurie Boland (Worcester, MA) singled with two outs and came home on a triple by Bettencourt.  Bettencourt and Boland each finished with two hits apiece in the opener.

Bernstein took the loss on the mound for the Penmen, scattering six hits while fanning six.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Bentley in a doubleheader starting at 3:00.
