BOYLSTON, Mass. -
Sophomore D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) fired a 76
to finish tied for fifth place as the Southern New Hampshire
University golf team opened the 2008-09 season at the Assumption
College Shootout at Cyprian Keyes Golf Course Tuesday
afternoon. As a team, the Penmen finished sixth out of seven
schools.
Lantz finished four strokes behind
low medalist Garrett Beyor of American International. Junior
Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) was the next
finisher for the Penmen as he carded a 78.
Jeff Newell
(Chicopee, MA) finished with a score of 84, while Andrew
Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) carded an 86. Freshman
John Devito (Nashua, NH) finished with an 87 on
the afternoon.
SNHU returns to action Sunday and
Monday at the ECAC Division II Championship at Long Island National
Golf Club in Riverhead, NY.
