KEENE, N.H.- The Keene State women's volleyball team
posted a 3-0 non-conference victory over visiting Southern
New Hampshire University at Spaulding Gym on Wednesday night.
It was the home season -opener for the Owls, who improve to
3-1.
SNHU falls to 0-2.
KSC won the last four points of the first game to pull out a
25-23 win. The Owls jumped out to a 11-1 lead on the way to
taking the second game 25-10. They wrapped up the match with
a 25-15 third game victory.
Freshman middle hitter Danielle Coffey
(Westborough, Mass.) had eight kills and senior outside hitter
Brianna Doucet (Danville, N.H.) finished with
seven kills for the Penmen.
The Owls were led by senior libero Sarah
Peterson (Danville, N.H.) who finished the game with 19
digs. The O'Bryant sisters, Brittany and
Bridget of Merrimack, N.H., led the offense with
eight and five kills respectively. Brittany also chipped in
with three blocks. Freshman Kristen Girard
(Tivoli, N.Y.) added seven kills and one block.
Sisters, senior Chia Rowe of Keene State and
SNHU's setter Kim Rowe, both of Exeter, N.H. faced
each other in the match.
SNHU is idle until next Tuesday when it host UMass-Lowell
(7 p.m.).
