MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team officially signed Madison McCann (Manchester, N.H.) to its program Wednesday evening after being matched with the 14-year-old through Team IMPACT.
Madison, who was diagnosed with Shwachman Diamond Symdrome (SDS), is a competitive cheerleader, and loves animals, swimming, listening to music and spending time with her family.
Following a few words from first-year head coach
Lauren Havill, Madison signed her Letter of Intent, flanked by her mother and brother, before celebrating with her new teammates.
Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for children facing serious illness and disability by matching them with collegiate athletic teams. Madison becomes the 21st all-time letterwinner since for SNHU since its partnership with Team IMPACT began in 2012. She is also the second ever for the women's volleyball program, which was previously matched with Fiona from 2020-23. In addition to Madison, SNHU also has active matches with its men's soccer and men's basketball programs.
