LITCHFIELD, N.H. -
Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.) of the Southern
New Hampshire University golf team carded a 74 Monday to earn
medalist honors and lead the Penmen to a team victory at the SNHU
Invitational at Passaconaway Country Club. SNHU, which led
after day one, finished with a two-day total of 610, three strokes
ahead of UMass Lowell.
Manhattan College tied UMass Lowell
for low score on day two (302) and finished third with a 624
two-day total. Holy Cross (629), Assumption (635) and
Franklin Pierce (638) rounded out the field.
Winslow earned medalist honors for
the second straight week, as he was also medalist at the
Northeast-10 Championship. After shooting a one-over 72 on
Sunday, he finished with a two-day score of 146 to edge out
teammates D.J. Lantz (New London, N.H.) and
Jeff Newell (Chicopee, Mass.), who each finished
at 147 to tie for second.
Lantz, who was the day one leader
with an even-par 71, posted a 76 Monday, while Newell followed is
73 yesterday with a 74 on Monday. Nick Ricci
(Andover, Mass.) carded a 90 Monday to round out the Penmen
finishers.
Southern New Hampshire closes out
its fall season next Monday and Tuesday when it travels to the
NEIGA Championship at The Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass.
