BREWSTER, Mass. -
The Southern New Hampshire University golf team finished third
among Division II schools and 16th out of 39 schools
overall at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA)
Championship held Monday and Tuesday at The Captains Golf
Course. The Penmen, who were tied for 15th after
Monday's first round, improved by five strokes to post a 314 on
Tuesday.
D.J. Lantz (New
London, N.H.) was the top SNHU finisher, as he posted a two-day
score of 150. Lantz, who was third after the first round
after carding a 71, posted a 79 on Tuesday to finish tied for
19th. Jeff Newell (Chicopee,
Mass.) shot a 76 Tuesday and finished with a two-round score of 157
to tie for 53rd, while Shane Winslow
(Portsmouth, N.H.) was tied for 86th with a 161, posting
rounds of 82 and 79.
Jeff Atkinson
(Lancaster, N.H.) improved by five strokes Tuesday to card an 80,
while Matt Reims (Cheshire, Conn.) improved by
four strokes to record an 83.
The NEIGA Championship closed out
SNHU's fall season.
