BERNARDSTON, Mass.
- Senior Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.) of the
Southern New Hampshire University golf team prevailed in a
three-hole sudden victory playoff to capture Northeast-10 Player of
the Year honors at the NE-10 Championship at the Crumpin-Fox Golf
Club Monday. As a team, the Penmen finished third overall, 12
strokes back of tournament champion Adelphi University, after
sharing the round one lead with American International
College. AIC finished second, three strokes back.
Winslow, who led after the first
round with an even-par 72, fired a 78 on Monday to tie for the top
spot with Adelphi's Stuart Pulkinen, who shot 73 on Monday after
carding a 77 on Sunday. With the tie, Winslow and Pulkinen
entered into a sudden victory playoff. Both players shot par
on the par-4 10th hole and the par-3 11th before Winslow
emerged victorious on the third hole, paring the 388-yard par-4
12th while Pulkinen carded a seven.
Winslow becomes the fourth SNHU

coach Matt Arvanitis captured the title in 2001 before Chris Rivard
won the crown the following year. Jeff Sullivan earned NE-10
Player of the Year in 2003.
Junior D.J. Lantz
(New London, N.H.) also earned Northeast-10 First Team
All-Conference honors as he finished in a tie for third place with

Lantz tied for the day two lead with a 73 on Monday. It marks
the second time in his career Lantz has earned All-Conference
accolades.

carding an 83 on day two, while Jeff Newell
(Chicopee, Mass.) posted an 88 after an opening round 79 to finish
39th. Matt Remis (Cheshire,
