In the opener, Saint Anselm jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second on an bases-loaded triple by Brittany Birch to the gap in right-center.  SNHU would tie the game in the fourth.  Ashley Bernstein (Stoughton, MA) would work a bases-loaded walk to score Elena Anderson (Salem, WI), who led off the inning with a walk.  The next batter, Melissa Vitagliano (Bedford, NH) singled up the middle to score Melissa Pessotti (Burlington, MA) and Andrea Clausi (Kingston, NY).

The Penmen would then score three times in the sixth.  Karissa Bettencourt (Norton, MA) led off with a single, then Anderson would reach on a fielders' choice when Saint Anselm unsuccessfully tried to throw out Bettencourt at second on Anderson's sacrifice attempt.  Pessotti would then belt a three-run homer to right to give the Penmen a lead they would not relinquish.

Saint Anselm would load the bases with one out in the top of the seventh, but SNHU pitcher Bernstein got Raylyn Glavin to ground into a 3-2-4 double play to end the game.

Pessotti and Bernstein each had two hits for Southern New Hampshire, which was outhit 9-7.  Bernstein struck out two in a complete-game effort to pick up the win.

In the nightcap, Saint Anselm would stake itself to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third on a mammoth home run by Morgan Murphy.  Meanwhile, Hawk pitcher Lisa Caruso retired the first 12 batters she faced, carrying a perfect game into the fifth before Anderson led off the fifth with an infield single up the middle.

In the seventh, Anderson would get a two-out rally started with a single through the left side.  Pessotti would walk, and be lifted for pinch-runner Andrea Ouellette (Londonderry, NH).  Bernstein would then single to right, scoring Anderson, but Ouellette would be thrown out at third trying to advance to third on the throw home.

Glavin, Murphy and Birch each had two hits for Saint Anselm, while Caruso earned the win in a complete-game effort.  Kelsey Griffin (Scarborough, ME) took the loss, allowing eight hits, but just one in the final four innings, while striking out seven.  Anderson had two of SNHU's three hits in the nightcap.
