GAME 1 BOX SCORE     GAME 2 BOX SCORE

WALTHAM, Mass. - Bentley University posted 3-1 and 7-1 victories en route to a Northeast-10 softball doubleheader sweep of Southern New Hampshire University Thursday afternoon.  The Falcons improved to 15-11 and 8-6 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 10-14 and 8-4 in the league.

In the opener, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when a single by Ashley DeRosa drove in pinch runner Liz Miskinis, who was running for Jenna Crowell after Crowell led off the inning with a single.  The Penmen would tie the game in the top of the fourth when Elena Anderson (Salem, WI) belted her second home run of the season, but the hosts would score twice in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI double by Lindsay Ayers that scored Christine D'Amico, and a single by Megan Blier that plated Ayers.

Anderson had two of SNHU's four hits in the opener, while Ayers led Bentley with a pair of hits.  Kyla Puccini (North Dighton, MA) took the loss for SNHU, allowing six hits and three runs in 3.2 innings of work.

In the nightcap, Bentley would strike five times in the bottom of the third as it strung together four hits, including a three-run double by Blier.  The Penmen would score their lone run in the top of the fourth when a double by Kelsey Griffin (Scarborough, ME) scored Valerie Martins (Somerset, MA).  The Falcons would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Ashley Bernstein (Stoughton, MA) recorded a pair of hits for Southern New Hampshire in the nightcap while Ayers and Jasmine Ortiz each had three hits as part of Bentley's 11-hit attack.  Amanda Barton (Franklin, NH) took the loss for SNHU, allowing four runs in 2.1 innings of work.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Friday when it hosts American International College in a 3:00 twinbill.
