The Southern New Hampshire University golf team finds itself in a
four-way tie for sixth place among 20 schools competing in the NCAA
Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional after the first round
Monday. The Penmen, who posted a score of 317 on the Cobb Course at
the Resort at Glade Springs, are tied with Concord University,
Indiana Uniersity of Pennsylvania and Le Moyne College, 13 strokes
back of round one leader Fayetteville State University. The tourney
consists of three rounds, with play resuming Tuesday and concluding
Wednesday.
Shane Winslow
(Portsmouth, NH) currently leads SNHU, as he is in a tie for ninth
place out of 108 golfers with a four-over 76. D.J.
Lantz (New London, NH) recorded an 79 to sit in a tie for
30th, while Jeff Newell (Chicopee, MA) carded an
80 to tie for 37th. John DeVito (Nashua, NH)
currently resides in a 53rd-place tie as he posted a score of 82,
while Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) posted an 86
on day one to round out the Penmen lineup.
