DANIELS, W.V. -
Junior Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) of the
Southern New Hampshire University golf team finished tied for
27th out of 108 golfers as the Penmen finished in a tie
for 17th out of 20 teams at the NCAA Atlantic/East Super
Regional at The Resort at Glade Springs that wrapped up
Wednesday. Due to two rain delays Tuesday, SNHU finished its
second round this morning before playing its final 18 holes later
in the day.
Winslow finished with a three-day
score of 236, 20 strokes over par and 12 strokes back of medalist
Emmanuel Charmat of Concord University. Sophomore
D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) finished tied for
37th, firing a 77 Wednesday to finish with a three-day
total of 239, while Jeff Newell (Chicopee, MA)
recorded a total score of 247 to place 79th.
John DeVito
(Nashua, NH) (252) and Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland,
RI) (265) rounded out the Penmen finishers.
SNHU was making its third
appearance in the NCAA Championship, as it also competed in 2003
and 2006.
