MANCHESTER, N.H. - Danielle
Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) totaled 11 kills and four
blocks (three solo) to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a
3-0 win over Keene State College in volleyball action Wednesday
night at the SNHU Fieldhouse. The game marked the season
opener for both schools.
The game scores were 25-19, 25-16,
25-15.
Coffey only committed one attack
error in 18 attempts to finish with a .556 hitting percentage for
the evening. Stephanie Dluginski (Floral
Park, N.Y.) and Kim Rowe (Exeter, N.H.) finished
with eight kills apiece, while Allison Murphy
(Montague, Mass.) added seven kills for the Penmen. Freshman
Caitlin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) registered 14 digs
defensively, while classmate Lauren Lorenz
(Frankfort, Ill.) handed out 17 assists. Junior
Kristin Wilson (Milton, N.H.), Caitlin's sister,
added 12 assists.
Ellyse Davis led the Owls, who went
29-9 last season, with seven kills while Tiffani Brooks added six
kills. Jordan Pokryfki handed out 26 assists for Keene State.
As a team, Southern New Hampshire
hit .255 for the game, while limiting the Owls to .085 hitting on
the evening.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Sunday when it travels to Saint Anselm College for a
tri-match. The Penmen face Post University at noon, then play
the host Hawks at 2:00 at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
