HANOVER, N.H. - D.J. Lantz
(New London, N.H.) finished tied for eighth as the Southern New
Hampshire University golf team finished 11th out of 13
schools at the Dartmouth Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the
Hanover Country Club. The host Big Green captured the
tournament title, as the tourney featured 10 Division I teams.
Lantz fired a collegiate-best 71 on Saturday then followed up
with a 75 on Sunday. Jeff Newell (Chicopee,
Mass.) was the next-highest Penmen finisher, coming in
46th with a two-day score of 158. Shane
Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished two strokes behind
Newell and was 52nd overall.
Jeff Atkinson (Lancaster, N.H.) fired rounds of
83 and 84 in his collegiate debut for a two-day total of 167, while
Nick Ricci (Andover, Mass.) had a two-day score of
173, and lowered his score seven strokes on Sunday to post an 83.
The SNHU golf team competes at the Northeast-10 Championship
next Sunday and Monday.
