With 0.6 seconds remaining, New Haven, following a timeout, inbounded at midcourt opposite the benches.  Jasmine Hardy threw a lob pass to Stellmacher, who was cutting down the left side of the key.  Stellmacher caught the ball and laid it in for the game-winner.

Overtime saw four ties and a pair of lead changes.  SNHU took a 65-63 lead with 1:47 left following a layup by Sorrell.  On the next New Haven trip, McDade would come up with a block of Marte and the Penmen controlled the rebound.  On the other end, Andrea Lozeau (Pelham, N.H.) had a layup rim out and Marte grabbed the rebound.  Marte would be fouled going to the basket and sank both free throws to tie the game with 50 seconds left.

On the next Penmen possession, Sorrell would miss and Marte grabbed the rebound with 30 seconds to play.  After a timeout, Stellmacher missed a jumper with six seconds to go and Sorrell controlled the rebound, but the Penmen would turn it over near midcourt to give the Chargers their final chance.

Southern New Hampshire trailed 57-52 with 1:30 remaining in regulation following a Stellmacher three from the left corner.  Spanarkel would be fouled going to the basket with 49 seconds left and made 1-of-2 at the line.  New Haven would turn the ball over in the backcourt on a tieup by Carrington, and Duffy would convert a layup with 35 seconds left to make it a 57-55 game.

The Penmen chose not to foul and Olivia DeMarco missed a three at the top of the key with 11 seconds left, with Spanarkel grabbing the rebound.  Following a timeout, McDade would force overtime as time expired as she hit a 15-foot off-balance jumper from the right elbow.

The hosts led 31-26 at halftime and took a 35-28 lead with 17:40 to play following a layup by Sorrell.  New Haven tied the game with 13:29 to go on a Stellmacher basket, but the Penmen would score the next four points and took a 46-42 lead on a Carrington bucket with 12:20 on the clock.  The Chargers scored the game's next seven points and a pair of free throws by Marte with 9:50 left gave New Haven a 49-46 advantage.
