- The Southern New Hampshire University golf team sits seventh out
of eight schools after day one of the SNHU Penmen Invitational held
Sunday at Country Club of New Hampshire. The Penmen, who
recorded a team score of 329, sit 13 strokes back of tournament
co-leaders Assumption College and Bentley University.
Freshman Vince Kimball (Lebanon, N.H.) leads the
Penmen, as he sits in a tie for fifth overall after posting a round
of 77 Sunday, four shots back of tournament leader BJ Powers of
Franklin Pierce University. Classmate Chris
Weilandt (Franklin, Mass.) registered a score of 82 to sit
in 18th, while Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.),
the defending champion of the tournament, fired an 83 to currently
sit 22nd overall.
Matt Reims (Cheshire, Conn.) posted a score of 87,
while Nick Burke (Sandwich, Mass.) finished the
opening round with an 88.
The second round of the SNHU Penmen Invitational takes place Monday
at CCNH starting at 9:00 am.
