BREWSTER, Mass.
– The Southern New Hampshire University golf team
finished 29th at the 76th annual New England
Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship held Monday
and Tuesday at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
The Penmen moved up two spots, as they sat 29th after
day one, shooting a 340, while shooting a 325 on Monday.
Senior Shane
Winslow (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the top Penmen finisher,
placing 94th overall with a two-day total of 163.
Winslow carded an 82 on day one and an 81 Tuesday. Winslow
also captured the long drive contest held Monday afternoon after
the completion of the first round. He won the competition
with a drive of 325.7 yards.
Nick Burke
(Sandwich, Mass.) shot a 78 in Tuesday's second round, the
low round by a Penmen golfer during the tournament, and posted a
two-day score of 165. Vince Kimball
(Lebanon, N.H.) shot 86 on Monday and 83 Tuesday for a score of
169. Jeff Atkinson (Lancaster, N.H.) posted
identical scores to tie Kimball, while Chris
Weilandt (Franklin, Mass.) had a two day score of 175 to
round out the Penmen finishers.
The NEIGA Championship wrapped up
SNHU's fall season.
